Are you about to set up your first project for time-series-based supply planning? With the extensive application help available, can’t you see the wood for the trees?

To support you when setting up a project, we now provide Getting Started documentation for time-series-based supply planning. It suggests a starter configuration with a low level of complexity, which you can increase in later project phases. The documentation also explains basic concepts used in time-series-based supply planning. On top, it provides multiple recommendations for a smooth operation of the first project phase.

If you want to dig deeper, you can follow the links to the comprehensive overall documentation for time-series-based supply planning.

 Starter Configuration

We provide a list of the master data types required for most use cases, in the order in which you usually create them.

We also list and explain the key figures required to produce planning results, together with related information and tips.

 Basic Concepts

By contrasting them, we briefly explain the time-series-based supply planning heuristic and the time-series-based supply planning optimizer. You can find examples illustrating calculations performed by these algorithms.

Furthermore, we explain how key figures for demand analysis relate to each other and how they interact with the supply planning algorithms.

Recommendations for a Smooth Operation of the First Project Phase

These include tips about which algorithms to use and when, which parameters may make sense for you, how you can start easy and increase the complexity of your supply chain model incrementally, and what you need to consider regarding the optimizer runtime.
