After a successful event in Las Vegas, where 25 faculty members and 30 students from the UA community took part in, SAP TechEd && d-code moves on to Berlin next week! Formerly known as SAP TechEd, the new event will be packed with more hands-on coding experiences and IT-News than ever before. I am particularly excited that this year’s SAP TechEd && d-code for the EMEA region, is hosted in the German capital because the city stands out with its unique alternative and artistic atmosphere that makes every stay in Berlin an exciting one. Pair that with SAP’s premier technology education event resulting is three days of extreme fun, stunning ideas and loads of new experiences – guaranteed!
Consequently, SAP TechEd && d-code is an absolute MUST for all IT architects, administrators, and developers! Nowhere else can you get such a great agglomeration of latest trends in IT, hands on experience on SAP technology and vast networking opportunities in one event. From visiting one of the many
educational breakout sessions (varying from hands-on workshops, demo-rich lectures, customer and partner lectures as well as Q&A sessions), to hearing
keynote sessions or informing yourself about latest technologies in the exhibition area: SAP TechEd && d-code offers you all the opportunities to give you fresh input and fill your head with groundbreaking ideas. Additionally, you can test and apply your skills in the so called Hackers’ lounge or the pre-conference Developer Garage. But don’t worry, it is not all about cramming and working: Mini-code jam events, relaxing coffee corners, an old-school game zone as well as a great celebration night with life music and the world’s best BMX-riders will bring fun to Berlin.
Of course, SAP University Alliances will be onsite again with several students, professors, and lecturers from the UA community and lots of special sessions at SAP TechEd && d-code from November 11-13, 2014.
SAP InnoJam
As usual, SAP TechEd && d-code will be kicked-off by a pre-conference SAP InnoJam. This year, 6 students from the UA community will actively participate
in the two-day competition. Within 30 hours they and their team will have to develop and code an app that solves a real-life problem. This year’s task will be “Internet of Things for the Agricultural Industry”. By making use of Design Thinking techniques, the competing teams will have to find a problem that is worth solving, think of a solution from scratch and completely code the whole app so that they can pitch their successfully running prototype in the end. The winning team will not only have the gratification of having produced something truly helpful but will also have the honor of presenting their app live on stage at DemoJam. I am already looking forward to the innovative ideas of this year’s Jam and keep my fingers crossed for our students!
UA’s SAP TechEd && d-code
UA contributes to the official TechEd && d-code program with several activities. For one, together with our partners HPI, SAP Innovation Center and Academy Cube, University Alliances will form an university innovation campus in the Info Zone, informing customers about topics like eLearning offerings,
available SAP curriculum for universities or ongoing co-innovation projects. Roundtable discussion rounds on UA’s Start-up Focus program and dedicated Expert Networking Sessions to topics like real-time analysis of clinical data or a technical deep-dive into a column-oriented In-Memory Database will give the opportunity to get updated on UA’s and its partners latest solutions and offerings for students and faculty. In addition, 50 of our brightest millennial Students will support us on the show floor and will thus be able to experience the whole electrifying atmosphere of SAP TechEd && d-code first-hand.
I am particularly looking forward to the exclusive IT backstage tour that will give all UA attendees an insight into the efforts and technical devices that keep life
at SAP TechEd && d-code running – and, most importantly, the Wi-Fi available!
You see, UA is prepared for THE tech event of the year and I am looking forward to three days full of great new experiences, new acquaintances and heaps of exiting fun!
For all the unfortunate ones who will not be able to accompany us to Berlin, do not despair! Live broadcasts of keynotes, Tech Talks, lectures and additional interviews will keep you up to date on everything happening at SAP TechEd && d-code in Berlin.
