Arrival
The International SAP Conference for Energy and Utilities in Basel was a tremendous success, bringing together over 850 attendees from more than 280 companies on site. The picturesque city of Basel, known for its rich cultural heritage, stunning architecture, and the serene Rhine River, provided the perfect backdrop for this highly anticipated event.
Pre-Conference Day
The pre-conference workshops and "open door" sessions included such topics as SAP S/4HANA Transformation, Industry Cloud, E-Mobility, Smart Water, SAP Sustainability Control Tower, SAP Signavio, SAP BTP, SAP Sustainable Procurement, SAP Smart Metering, SAP CX and were fully booked. The presentations were so engaging that people stood in the doorframe, drawn in by the insightful content. And, as the perfect ending to such an intense day, attendees enjoy a delightful evening cocktail reception at the Hyperion Hotel sponsored by Capgemini.
Main Conference
Throughout two conference days, energy experts exchanged best practices, analyzed current trends, and discovered innovative solutions offered by SAP and partners. An array of topics was addressed in keynote presentations, roundtables, tracks, microforums, and breakout sessions, encompassing energy transition, digital transformation, industry know-how, customer-focused services, and many more, over 40 hours of exclusive content.
The SAP Booth, at the center of the exhibition, featured tailored-for-customer interactive demos and presentations led by SAP industry experts showcasing SAP solutions and advancements in the energy and utilities industry. The booth was also a central meeting point for most attendees to gather, network, and exchange ideas.
Mindfulness Break
The mindfulness break was incorporated into the event and provided a valuable opportunity for participants to recenter and recharge their mental capacities.
The Women Networking Lunch
The Women Networking Lunch offered another excellent platform for female professionals to connect, share ideas, and empower each other in the ever-evolving energy and utilities sector, encouraging women to drive innovation and transformation within the industry.
The Altes Kraftwerk - Evening Event
At the end of the first day, the Altes Kraftwerk, a former power plant, provided an amazing setting for the evening event. Its historical charm and industry relevance set an unforgettable and unique atmosphere that left a lasting impression. Upon arrival, conference guests were greeted with an array of delightful refreshments, setting the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable evening, offering the perfect opportunity for conference participants to unwind, network, and engage in stimulating conversations with their peers and, of course, enjoy Swiss food specialties.
EDX
In parallel with the International SAP Conference for Energy and Utilities, the Executive Digital Exchange Energy & Water 2023 (EDX) was held at the Sorell Hotel Basel on April 18th. Leaders from 24 companies participated in the open conversations regarding the future of the energy and utilities industry, covering their challenges, technological advancements, and practical contributions toward achieving climate goals.
