Is GMPS status mandatory for Work Order settlement if there are no operation confirmations?

Hi,

I read in one of the articles that GMPS status in Work Order does not appear upon upgrading to S/4HANA 2020 onwards from 1909 version.
I recently encountered this scenario having to worked both the 1909 and 2022 versions at two different clients and was surprised to see that all Orders in 1909 version had GMPS status when goods were issued against Order. At other client who moved onto S/4 HANA 2022 version, the GMPS status was not appearing for any Order since their upgrade from 1909. 

My concern: I am not able to settle any order in 2022 version using tcode KO88 for Order against which issuance has been made (Movement Type 261) and its status doesn't have GMPS in it.

Upon running KO88 for same Order it says that "there is nothing to settle or already settled", though i made issuance against same order.

Now my question is whether GMPS status is mandatory for Work Orders to be settled? Also how to get this status?

Hi,

I am using 2021, but SAP cannot put a condition saying GMPS is mandatory, unless there might be optional configuration introduced in 2022, not to TECO order without GMPS.

Check any enhancement is available or setup in your system, else raise a OSS message.
