The latest release of SAP Enterprise Product Development includes many improvements and enhancements to the features we have for managing your product lifecycle using our Cloud solution. The teams developing our PLM solution have been working hard to enhance our UX experience, integrate more services to meet our customers’ needs, and provide more user-oriented features to unleash your PLM power, and this blog will hopefully draw your attention to a few top changes.
Product Innovation Management Integration with Jira
Since we use Jira software to keep track of our own developments at SAP, one of the features delivered by the team working on the Product Innovation Management capability that really got my attention was this integration with Jira. So I asked the team product owner Elizabeth about the new feature: “Since the Product Innovation Management capability mainly involves the early product development phase, we wanted to extend our users’ ability to work with the innovations. The introduction of Jira as a project management tool aims to support our customers in their follow-on activities on their most promising innovation ideas.”
Product Master Integration for Specification Management
The Specification Management capability also has something I found very interesting: the product master integration. To delve into the details, read the latest blog by my colleague Zsofia:

More Updates for Our Other Capabilities
But that’s just two of the many updates from other capabilities: Here’s a few more:
- Collaboration: Administrators can now configure access to collaboration history, allowing contributors to track changes.
- Configuration Management: Changes include BOM handover, setting default values for baselines, and viewing object details.
- Enterprise Product Structure: Users can monitor the changing status of a BOM, view component details during product structure editing, and receive system-proposed IDs when creating components. Multiple users can now edit a product structure simultaneously.
- Insights: Users can access information about requirements models and product innovations via the new Insights card.
- Intelligent Handover: Users can create a handover referring to a baseline, delete operations, and propose links.
- Visualization: Users can add folders to favorites, assign point-cloud data to 3D models, and create and manage scripts for automatic workflows.
