Unable to delete custom field due to external use of the field

Hello,

in the sandbox system we have created a Custom field for a test. This test never took place. The custom field was just maintained in a Top-Down-Template and some postings were made. I have already deleted the template and reversed the postings. I also disabled every field in “Custom Fields” but when trying to delete this field this message comes up: “            FGL_BCF*       Field is used in the balance carryforward views. See SAP Note 2762837.”  We have tried to execute the report from SAP Note 2762837 but there comes up a new message: “Publish canceled because custom field * is externally used.” We are blocked e.g., when trying to run allocation cycles. That is why this field needs to be deleted as soon as possible. Do you have a solution for this issue?

Hi, 

 “Publish canceled because custom field * is externally used.”  - Means Custom field is used some other cds views . You need to identify them . If they are custom cds views then delete this field from the view. If it is standard cds view , then we need to identify report to reset to delivery for the respective standard cds view or check with SAP Support , 

Below is one possible way to find the other cds view.

Please use this table DD03ND_V , pass your custom field in View Field FIELDNAME. in the table DD03ND_V.
