Why do we get "Exception "ERROR_AT_SAVE" triggered (conversion object ) when Mig Object Routing ?

The Migration Object Routing in S/4HANA Cloud fails with error ERROR_AT_SAVE

What is the cause and how do we prevent it from occurring ?

The error is raised if the BADI BOM_BEFORE_SAVE is active ( Business Context : Master Data:Bill of Material Header or Bill of Material Item )

In this BADI there is a custom validation check performed at save that raises an error .

The BOM BADI is called in the Migration Object Routing as Component Allocation is involved.

Please adjust the code in BADI implementation / deactivate if necessary so the custom validation will not be performed.

Please consider implementing a check on the System Variable SY-UNAME in the BADI implementation for whoever is running the Data Migration to skip the custom code
