Sales order BOM not exploding

Hi,

I have a problem with the BOM in sales order, the user as created a new material (main item) and assigned to another material through CS01.

Now when SO is created the sub-item is not exploded only the main item is exploded with the BOM item category (i,e ZTQS - BOM Header)

I checked all the master data and everything seems fine, could anyone have a look and advise with your valuable inputs.

Hi,

Please check,

1. The new material has the item category group hasERLA, Lumf

2. while creating BOM in CS01, check that BOM usage is 5.

3. see that plant is same from BOM and the material master.

please revert in any issues

Hi Kuntla,

1.The material as item category group of "Z001 Price hdr, del item" in the MMR.

2.Both Materials exists in same plant.

3.Both materials as stock.

4.While assigning the BOM at CS01, the item is category is "N - Non Stock item"( does this make any difference?)

5.Item category is defined in the way- Sa type- ZORT, Item cat grp- Z001, DefaultItem cat - ZTQS and Manual Item cat - ZTQN.

All the settings looks fine , any where am i missing ?

Hi Reddy

Every thing is correct but check the few things.

1. Make it as "Stock item - L" in the BOM master data in CS01.

2. BOM usage must be "5".

3. Make the Item category group as either ERLA or LUMF in the material master of the BOM material.

4. Go to the item category in t.code VOV7, find out the field "Structure scope" for Item category TAQ and TAP.

Enter the value as single level or multi level as applicable.

You have to configure BOM explosion in VOV7 - item category settings - BOM area and you can specify whether it is a single level or multi level explosion etc., Depending on the configuration made here, the BOM explosion takes place in the order.
