We're working in S/4HANA Cloud and want to retain samples after the usage decision. I don't see any options for retaining samples in the system.
Our initial workaround was to do a partial stock posting where we would book to a new material, however since we are using QM with EWM, that option doesn't seem available to us.
Is there any way to do sample retainment?
Hello mook.
How are you? Which is the Inspection Type that you are using? Because, depending on the type of Inspection Type, one workaround is to send the Sample Quantity to Blocked Stock in an specific Storage Locatio. For Quality Control, for example.

Hey Martijn
For Inspection lots with Origin 17 in the App for Record Usage Decision in S/4HANA Cloud - there is a new option / button "WM Inspection" which is mentioned / shown in the blog
Fig. 6: Integration of WM Inspection into the app ‘Record Usage Decision’
A Suggestion would be to use the stock posting in this WM Inspection screen and define a followup action
in the SSCUI 'Maintain Follow-Up Actions' ( configuration id 104709 ) found in the manage your solution app for Sample Consumption.
another screenshot attached from an internal S/4HANA Cloud of the customizing
Hopefully that might help instead
Best Regards

Hey Enda,
Thank you for taking the time to try and solve this issue with me 🙂
Unfortunately, because of the EWM integration the inspection lot type that is being created is 17, and not 1.
For this reason I can't make stock postings in a standard way, as shown in your screenshot. Otherwise that would definitely be the way to go!
Appreciate your help though!
