What is the Impact of updating ETC efforts in review customer project?

Hi Team,

In the review customer projects application, we can see planned efforts, staffed efforts, actual efforts, ETC efforts, and EAC efforts.

As per our understanding, planned efforts and staffed efforts are picked from the work package maintained in the plan customer projects application.

Actual efforts are picked from timesheets filled by resources.

EAC efforts are the sum of actual efforts and ETC efforts.

By default, ETC effort is calculated by subtracting actual efforts from planned efforts.

While forecasting the project, if the project manager expects that the required ETC effort is more than what he initially planned, he can be able to update the ETC effort.

If he forecasts more ETC effort, the EAC and all other KPI's will have an impact.

Here we want to know: if Project manager changes the ETC effort,

1. What is the impact on other applications, like plan customer projects?

2. Will it change the planned efforts or staffed efforts in plan customer projects?

3. Is there any financial impact or it is just for view purpose only?

Hi Siva,

Change of ETC will only impact the EAC related KPI. there is no impact on Plan customer project nor planned/ staffed efforts. There will be no impact on financial plan, only the EAC KPI will change.
