Hello Experts,
Are there any available resource laying out major ECC vs S4HC differences for project system? If this has already been described in another forum please direct me there.
Obvious one to me are:
1) Customer projects functionality for RRB process handled through separate apps (not project control/project builder). No project hierarchy, all work packages are created at the same level. No settlement required. Work items available mimicking activities.
2) Logistics functionality not available in S4HC (planned for 2020/2021). No Network/Act available in S4HC, might be replaced with more functionality at WBS level.
3) My timesheet app for time entry (backend still used CATS functionality). Limitation on no. activity types (enhanced through service cost level).
4) Limited project profiles (only 4 available under project builder). No access to create more.
5) Coding mask initial character (project ID) can only be configured to single digit (not upto 5)
6) No access to Settlements/Allocation structure in S4HC, can make some updates through "Create Overhead Allocation Cycles" app.
7) Budgeting/planning done through upload (Import Financial Plan data)
Thanks,
Bikram
Hi Bikram,
I'm not aware of any documentation which discusses the differences between the two products. However, you can check out the functionality each product has available via the respective SAP help links:
SAP S/4HANA Cloud - Professional Services
SAP S/4HANA Cloud - R&D / Engineering
SAP ERP - Project Systems

Brendan
