Planning through MRP for De-Kit Process

Dear All,

One of our Clients has a Business scenario as explained below;

4 Components required for multiple FG Production. These Components are part of those FG BoMs. Components are externally procured. But, these components are not sold individually by Vendors! Components are sold as a Set. A Box contains 10EA of these 4 Components. Business requires to Plan for Component requirement and also Plan for De-Packing of the Box which contains the required components and then take them into inventory individually. Components are planned by the dependent requirement of corresponding FGs. But the cumulative requirement quantities of the Components should flow to BOX material and then place a External PO and also create a Production Order for De-packing the Box after receiving from the Vendor and then take the component quantities into Inventory. Currently, the PO being created for Box by manual calculations of the requirement quantities of the Components and a Manual Production Order ( with header Material as Box ) containing Box as a Component and other Components with -ve quantity. Business wants to automate the entire process by using MRP!!

Kindly suggest if any suitable solution comes into your thought considering the system used by Client is ECC with latest support pack and not S/4 HANA.

Dear Laxmi,

As per my understanding, Kitting and De-kitting functionality is not available in standard MRP. Probably think about the development Option to have an automated process
