Material has MRP type ND but still sales order does ATP eventhough there is no stock

Material has MRP type ND (no planning)assigned and there is no stock in system but if we create sales order then system still confirm sales order qty. Do you know what could be the reason?

Hi Eric,

I guess the lead time in the material master is "0" & in scope of check (Transaction OVZ9) "Check without RLT" check box is not selected. In this case system will confirm all orders for today's date.

Please select this check box & then check the order.

Hello Eric,

Which planning strategy group you are using? If is 81 or 82 (Assembly Processing) then also system will confirm stock as it gets the replenishment proposal.

I'm still confused in this case.

Case-1:

Material has no stock in MMBE, MRP type = ND, ATP confirmed to an order

Case-2:

Material has no stock in MMBE, MRP type = PD, ATP does not confirm.

Why system does confirm in case-1 but not in case-2?

Hi Eric Sun,

Did you check CO09 for a better understanding of why the confirmation is done?

Even if your MRP type is ND, if you have an open replenishment order, this can be the reason of your confirmation.

Please share CO09 of both materials.
