ML4HMASTER106 Error in CKMLCP Prep Step

Hello,

We are receiving the ML4HMASTER106 Error in CKMLCP Prep Step in S/4 HANA.

After previous period ML was closed, a goods receipt was backdated into previous period.

We are now receiving ML4HMASTER106 Error in CKMLCP Prep Step because it shows that this material was not closed in previous period due to the backdated document.

Previous period materials module has been closed.

We have applied SAP Note 2494992 to Allow Open Status for Previous Period.

Is this the best approach? In Note 2494992, it states that Potential inconsistencies in the value flows must be accepted in this case. What are the potential inconsistencies in value flows that could occur?

Is there a better approach to closing ML with the backdated document issue?

In ECC, the Must Settle listed in Note 361236 worked as a solution (not an SAP supported workaround), but this is no longer available in S/4 HANA.

Thank you so much for your response.

We are on release 1909.

I have read OSS Note 2635313, but for our release it appears that we would need to open the materials module FI, which is currently closed for the previous period. We were hoping to avoid this as we have already completed reporting for the previous period.

If you are updating additional information against an answer it would help if you could update the same as comments, under the answer so that it helps others as well in the community.

You would need to open up the FI Periods as well as mentioned in the note 2635313.
