Issue with Depreciation Area Values in Assets

Dear SAP Community,

We have encountered an issue with the modification of depreciation area values in our assets module, and we are seeking guidance/ideas/support on how to address it.

More specifically, whenever we modify values in depreciation area 01, it automatically impacts depreciation area 02. Similarly modifications in depreciation area 20 affect area 21 and so forth. However, for our IFRS reporting purposes, we require depreciation area 02 to maintain its own distinct values separate from those of area 01.

This issue has become particularly problematic following a recent merger, during which asset values were transferred in local currency and converted. Unfortunately, we neglected to transfer these values into euros, resulting in discrepancies between the original company's euro values and the exchange rates used during the conversion process.

We are seeking assistance in resolving this issue to ensure accurate reporting in accordance with IFRS standards. Could you please advise if there is a transaction type or alternative approach that would allow us to modify depreciation area values independently without impacting other areas?

Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Hello,

Please check the below configuration:

SPRO-->IMG --> Financial Accounting (New) or Financial Accounting --> Asset Accounting -> Valuation--> Depreciation Areas --> Specify Transfer of APC Values

In your case, you will see Depreciation 02 is the adoption value from Depreciation Area 01, you may try changing this setting in your system and test it out.
