Inspection lot not generated for refurbishment order

There is OSS 2664397 - 'No inspection lot creation for release of refurbishment order (message IW218)' which is valid for
S4CORE 100, 101, 102. Is is standard bug also in the system S40 S4CORE 107 ? If yes, can we apply the note 2664397 for the system S40 to solve this issue?
Our set up details:
Inspection type : 14 assigned to PM order type/plant in config
Task List header with 300 inspection point assigned, QM operation and characteristic with sampling procedure assigned in in task list.
PM order got released.

SAP Note 2664397 describes following:

"...
No inspection lot can be generated for a repair order or refurbishment order because this function is not supported in the standard system. Point 5 of the long text of message IW218 refers to the repair order but not to the refurbishment order.
...
Adjust the long text for message IW218 in accordance with the manual correction instructions. Delivery in the standard system takes place using the relevant support package.
...
Execute transaction SE91 for message IW218 in change mode. Navigate to the long text of the message and adjust the fifth point as follows or add the term "refurbishment order" to the text:
5. The order is a repair/refurbishment order. Inspection lots of inspection type 14 cannot be generated for repair/refurbishment orders."

It means, above note delivers a message correction into the system, which confirms that

Inspection lots of inspection type 14 cannot be generated for refurbishment orders.

It is a missing function, see SAP Note 11.

I know above is some kind of automatic post based on an OSS message, but since it is meant to be helpful, I feel it is somewhat inaccurate/incomplete. The most important information is missing: while it is true that you cannot have an inspection lot of type 14 for a refurbishment order, you can set up goods receipt inspection (inspection type 01) for the goods receipt of a refurbishment order.
