I have a Special Purpose ledger table which was created using a table group. I need to add new fields to it. Can this be done using GCIN to add the new fields? Does Basis need to do anything to expand the table ? What will be in the new fields on existing records? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Hello Barbara,
Answers to your questions are as below:
1. Can this be done using GCIN to add the new fields? Yes
2. Does Basis need to do anything to expand the table ? No
3. What will be in the new fields on existing records? Nothing
In GCIN, make sure you enter the fields in Object Table 1,Totals Table, Actual Line Item Table, Plan Line Item Table and reactivate the tables through SE11.
The issue however is, you would have to delete all the existing transactional / records with transaction code GCDE in all the tables and re-copy them once you're done. That's the only way you can have existing records in the new field(s).

Elias
