Follow up setting on finish-goods

Hi all,

    I meet another problem, for finish-goods A, we want to create on it, and sales it. But another material B is the same as A, that means in our company we can use B to replace A totally.  I thought of follow up setting in material master, we use it on component now .

    My question is,  can we set B as the follow-up material in A?  Then when we create PIR on A, MRP can general B plan order while A  stock is not enough.   Please advise, thanks.

Hi

Yes system will generate planned order for Set B prior to material master setting user have to maintain bom with follow up & discontinue material.

Hi,

you have to maintain in BOM because MRP planning will happen as per BOM. mean time you can test it,

I have tested it with out maintaining BOM it is not happening.

     Yes, if A & B not in BOM, my testing also is not happening.

  it is not possible in standard without maintaining BOM.

kindly check for any enhancement to build logic on MRP run .
