Duplicate Check for Business Partner in S4HC

Hello all,

we have tried to activate the Business Partner duplicate check in the 3 system landscape. https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/f86dc2eb1f8b48c880a7607213104b27/4465d6e1485749c691bbb400...

The goal is to check if the duplicate check also works when using APIs (https://api.sap.com/api/API_BUSINESS_PARTNER/overview, https://api.sap.com/api/BUSINESSPARTNERSUITEBULKREPLIC/overview ).

As it looks, it seems to be a licensable scope item 1N1 and 1N3 (https://support.sap.com/content/dam/SAAP/Sol_Pack/Library/General/S4CLD2302_SSCUI_List_EN_XX.xlsm) .

SSCUI 100274. Without ordering the expert configuration for those scope items it seems to be not available in the CBC.

Does the standard duplicate check behind the mentioned scope items also have e.g. a FuzzySearch algorithm?

Is it possible to call the standard duplicate check through an API? I did not find any option in the SAP Business Accelerator Hub.

Are there any alternatives to the mentioned standard check?

Hi Igor,

The Business Partner duplicate check functionality currently only works within the Business Partner Fiori Apps (Manage Business Partner, Manage Customer and/or Manage Supplier Master Data). It doesn't work for the APIs (SOAP or OData) or the BP GUI App called Maintain Business Partner.

If we consider the same question for SAP S/4HANA on-premise, according to the blog post SAP S/4HANA Business Partner Duplicate Check by andi.mauersberger, "The duplicate check can take place in the SAP GUI dialog for maintaining business partners, or also using BAPIs". So in the case of SAP S/4HANA on-premise would it be correct to assume that we could create an API wrapper around the Duplicate Check BAPI so that it could be called explicitly to check for a duplicate?

I can only comment in the context of S/4HANA Cloud as I do not work with the On-premise version so I could not say for sure. If you still have your query please consider asking it as a question with the on-prem tags so as to reach the right experts.
