CK40N in S/4 HANA 1909

Hello All,

We are having costing issues while running CK40N in S/4 HANA 1909.

If a material is not costed in the current year it goes to the purchase info record (PIR) and uses the value from the 1st line without taking into consideration the costing lot size from the material master.

Examples where this is causing a problem are materials with pricing tiers or materials where the PIR unit of measure is different than the material master.

We typically do a full cost roll in CK40N on 01/01 of each year which is the beginning of our fiscal year, but were not able to complete due to HANA conversion. Does the full cost roll need to be completed at the beginning of each fiscal year in S/4 HANA?

Kind Regards

Hello,

When we are trying to re-cost a material in CK40N that has a BOM and the associated components do not have a current year cost release, it appears the CK40N is not taking the costing lot size from the material master in MM03 into account when it tries to re-cost this material.

CK11N appears to calculate correctly, but CK40N does not.

We are currently on S/4 HANA release 1909.

Below is an example that shows how a material is currently costing in CK40N.

Purchase Info Record

Pricing tiers setup in PIR

Material was last costed on 11/25/2020

Based on the costing lot size of 105,000 from MM03 and price unit of 4200, $215.20 should be selected from the pricing tier.

105,000 costing lot size /4200 price unit = 25

Since there is no current year cost release, CK40N is recalculating the material cost, however, it is capturing the 1st value in the PIR, rather than the correct pricing in the fourth tier.

CK11N calculates at 215.20

CK40N calculates at 543.75

Is anyone else seen this issue in S/4 HANA CK40N where costing lot size is not being factored into material recosting when a current year cost release does not exist?

Does a current year cost roll need to be completed at the beginning of each fiscal year to avoid this issue?

Kind Regards
