Just a question to all and the team.

Does a blog / question will be there more than one time come up in my notification stream when I follow several tags which are included?

Or is it just because of the moderation? Do not got an example right now, that's why I'm asking:-)

The only real duplicates in the Activities appear when I click the more button. From time to time the last (sometimes even more than just one) item above the more button shows up again when the new items are added to the screen.

I had never seen duplicates because the content was tagged with 2 or more tags which I follow.

It'll be in the Activity stream, not in the Notifications. I wouldn't be surprised if you got it listed multiple times. If you tell me two tags you're following (preferably less popular ones) I can post a test question for you to find out for sure. Unless someone else know the answer already.

Hi Jelena and Jürgen,

thanks for the answers. Let's wait a litlle more if there is someone around which maybe can answer it for sure. If not I come back to you and we do our own testcase:-)

Hello, Florian.

No, you shouldn't receive more than one notification due to subscription to several tags from content. The same is for activities(except of bug mentioned by Jürgen)

Best regards,

No, only once!

Just a clear sample:

Result in Activity - only single line:

For notifications:

Question:

Result in notifications:

Hello Florian,

Vadim did an excellent work showing the impacts of such on the user's Followed Activities as opposed to notifications. You should know that the way the system is designed, user subscriptions have nothing to do with notifications. All updates from user subscriptions are shown in user's Followed Activities and only important updates that are relevant to the user (independent of his/her subscriptions) are shown in their notifications. You can read more about Followed Activities here:

And you can read more about Notifications here:

Thanks,

Sajid Amir
