Now I'm thinking of moving to SAP as a Functional Consultant. I inquired with SAP Partners and they have recommended to go for SAP FI Training cum Certification.

Now, I would like to request you expert opinion on:

1) whether or not this Training cum Certification will add value to my Career.

2) Since my current location is Gwalior I will have to leave my work for a moth to complete this Training & Certification.

Am I taking too much of a risk? or with my domain experience coupled with SAP Training & Certification will add value to my career?

Thanks a lot for your assistance in advance.

Thanks & Regards,

Vijay K Patel

Changing your career at any point in life is risk indeed. But if you are dedicated and determined, the fruits of your efforts will follow. Indeed, there are scores of FI consultants in the country. But you have an edge over atleast 50% of them, since you have a strong background in Finance and Accounting. If possible take a long sabatical from your organization and finish the course. Then start applying for jobs. You will get some idea about the market situation. If, thats not possible then you have to do the inevitable of quitting the job - if you are really determined in starting a career in SAP.

Good Luck.
