Is SAP FI/CO necessary before learning SAP S/4HANA Finance - Financial Accounting?

Hi all,

I have 5+ Years technical experience in SAP and now I want to learn SAP S/4HANA Finance - Financial Accounting.

I saw roadmap for S/4 Finance on SAP site and it seems that it is covering basics but I am confused.

My direct question is that do I have to learn traditional SAP FI/CO before starting SAP S/4HANA Finance - Financial Accounting?

Can anyone please suggest?

Hello piyushdodiya2792

I would suggest to look at the learning journey for S/4HANA Finance.

https://help.sap.com/doc/221f8f84afef43d29ad37ef2af0c4adf/HP_2.0/en-US/5002d32d7a261014ad3081b2533c7...

My recommendation would be to look at S/4HANA Finance since the basic design for so called "FICO" in ERP and S/4HANA remains more or less same, but off course there are improvements in S/4HANA. However, given that lot of organizations are making or starting to make a move to S/4HANA, it makes much sense to focus on S/4HANA.

I would also suggest to change your tags to Carees and not really S/4HANA Finance since there is no technical issue, which are you are trying to solve.

Thanks & regards
