For some of us the SAP Community started off way back in 2003/2004 as the SAP Developer Network (SDN). Later after the Business Objects Community and others merged together it became the SAP Community Network (SCN) - then in 2016 it simply became the SAP Community.
I've personally seen a lot of changes to the environment over all these years but one thing has always remained constant - this is a place where you can come to ask questions, meet others and exchange knowledge.
Over the years we've had things like "Blog it Forward" that let people introduce themselves to each other. We've also had over the years forum threads and things like that to say hello.
We've even created some tutorials to help new comers as well as those like myself take more advantage of the community. Have you taken these 4 tutorials?
Would you be willing to introduce yourself to your fellow community members here?
Me? Well I started my path into the SAP way back in 2002/2003 when my company told me to learn it so I could install it when I cam back from my project in Germany. I'm sure some noticed the odd bit about that statement. Needless to say I dove in and as luck would have it, SAP had just launched their beta of a Community (SDN) so coming from a web application background I felt at home to go figure things out.
@Former Member Was actually one of the first people who helped me to figure things out, my question asking left a lot to be desired as I had no clue about terminology or anything else in the SAP world. Then it was a post by @qmacro about RSS and RFC's that really got me more comfortable and then I just went crazy sharing my experiences and learnings via the blog posts.
I started a series on BSP and "mini WAS" -
I even presented at my first SAP TechEd event.
BoF, TechEd Munich ’04 – RSS, HTTP and BSP
So it's been a crazy start into the SAP world that resulted in me getting a job with SAP, learning that you don't just "install it" 😉 and now I have the pleasure of trying to help others day to day!

Kjetil Kilhavn here, doing the "Tour of the SAP Community 2024". I have been working as an ABAP and Business Workflow developer since February 2000. Along with several other workflow developers I was fairly active on SAP Developer Network for a while, but became less active when I felt the community became so obsessed with welcoming new members that content quality was sacrificed in the process.
I never left the online SAP developer community completely, of course, but my level of engagement became and still is lower than it once was. Time will tell whether this new platform can lead to a renewed engagement for myself.

Hi everyone!
As a data analyst, I have only been involved with SAP as an end user for the last 10 years. I have mostly extracted data from SAP and processed it in Excel.
Now we are starting to build our new BI system based on SAC and I will be responsible for the central creation of the stories.
This is the start of a new chapter for me, where I will continue to expand my knowledge and maybe find some answers to questions that arise here in the community 🙂

Hello, my name is Fabrice López.
I have been working as an SAP consultant since 2008, right after they acquired Business Objects.
Although I continue to work with all the tools in the Business Objects platform, over the past five years, I have gained extensive knowledge in cloud solutions, particularly SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and Datasphere.
I'm happy to be part of this community and look forward to connecting with you all.

Hello SAP Community,
Refresher here! 😊 I am thrilled to embark on this learning adventure with all of you.
I bring a strong background in HR processes and systems, having spent the last four years working as a Recruiter/TA Specialist in large IT companies. I hold an Enterprise Economy degree and have a solid understanding of business processes, departmental workflows, and company structures.
Furthermore, I have always wanted to merge my knowledge and experience, and now I feel that SAP offers the perfect platform for this.
For me, SAP represents a strategic career step, and I am particularly interested in becoming an SAP SuccessFactors Consultant. I am here because I believe in continuous learning and see endless opportunities for growth and development within the SAP ecosystem.
The potential for career advancement and the open doors that SAP provides are incredibly motivating for me.
I would love to hear from others who are on a similar journey or have experience with SAP SuccessFactors. Any tips or advice?
Many thanks,
-Yulia-

Hi,
I am Hrishi and I have been a reader for most of my time here. However, I look forward to contributing.
I have been with SAP Labs India for more than 2 years now in the Focused Build area. I am a part of the development team here and we are responsible to keep the product stable and also add new features in next releases.
My primary expertise lies in developing freestyle SAPUI5 Applications along with writing ABAP code. The new technological developments in SAP are running ahead like a roadrunner and for now, I am like the Wile E. Coyote trying to catch up with the help of community blogs 😄.
I am really excited to join this community and hopefully will learn and contribute more in years to come.
Thanks,
Hrishi

Hello SAP Community,
My name is Cephus and I have been a consumer technical support specialist for the last 5 years.
I was introduced to SAP just 3 days ago by a career coach and have been encouraged by the amazing resources and community found here through my brief research.
I've always had a passion for technology. But honestly, it's primarily due the the immense amount of sheer knowledge needed to be acquired and maintained for it to be useful. It's a little embarrassing to say, but making use of my ability to easily absorb and subsequently regurgitate high level concepts and apply them to the benefit of others has always made me feel accomplished.
It's no surprise, then, that a career in consultation is my dream. And I hope to achieve that goal here in collaboration with the rest of you.
For now, I need to choose a certification with which to get started. My ultimate goal is to be an SAP Cybersecurity and GRC Consultant. While that certification appears to have been retired, I am open to suggestions from more senior members as to what my initial choice should be.
I hope to be able to be a provider of support rather than a recipient in short order.
Thank You,
Cephus

Hi Everyone,
This is Prateek Sharma from India, i started my SAP journey as an ABAP Developer in 2014. From there on there is no looking back, i have fully enjoyed my journey started with developing simple Reports to SAP Script then moving to more complex development to touching all the possible RICEFW objects.
There on moving to HANA side of things and exploring CDS, AMDP etc along with learning odata and linking them with FIORI application also learning business side of things mainly in SD and Logistics modules.
Now with the introduction of Cloud Application programming model which is now known as BTP services. Learned RAP from the start from awesome SAP teachers like Andre Fischer and Thomus Jung via many youtube videos and github tutorials.
Looking to connect with likeminded people and would love to share the knowledge i have gained over the past 10 years.
