I'd like to express my thanks to SAP that one can download WAS64 with the SAP DB, the Netweaver developer studio, even the SQL Studio, and the Portal and all this for free.
As an old abaper and basis person who has moved easily to abap objects I find the path to J2EE and WebDynpros and WebServices very impressive but nonetheless a big investment. Since they are not yet widely understood I also find I need that support (the free availability) to be able to make my own investment in mastering these.
