POSC for internal processes

Hi,

we want to set up a storage process with the Internal movement direction confugured.

As SAP says in the customizing info, the correct sequence could be: Remove from Stock, Pack, Deconsolidate , Perform Value-Added Services, and finally Put Away.

We have customized the strage process (called ZNEW) only for the stock removal (PICK - External step Z001), pack (PAC - External step Z002) and put away (PUT - External step Z003). The external steps Z001 and Z002 have the automatic subsequent WT creation checked so that after those external steps the next WT gets created.

For the external steps Z002 and Z003 we have mantained the Source Storage Type and Handling Unit Type Group accordingly to the process, setting up the warehouse process type (3070 for both of them) and the Destination storage type, section and bin.

Now, after all the customizing, whenever we create a WT with the warehouse order creation rule that has this new storage process ZNEW, the first external step Z001 can be seen in the WT data, and in the WO creation log we can see a message that says the following: "Storage process step Z002 determined for HU. Destination data set to &1 &2 &3 due to storage control" with &1 &2 &3 being the Destination storage type, section and bin.

However, we see 2 problems probably due to wrong configuration from our part:

  1. The WPT of the WT is the same as the one that we select in the /SCWM/ADHU, shouldn't it be the WPT that we have kept in the storage control for the external step Z002. It seems that this step only changed the destination data of the type, section and bin.
  2. The next external step Z003 is not getting triggered automatically, is there something missing?. Can we trigger it manually?

Thanks and best regards.

Hi,

haven't set it up for some time, so I might not remember all.

"We have customized the strage process (called ZNEW) only for the stock removal (PICK - External step Z001), pack (PAC - External step Z002) and put away (PUT - External step Z003). "

OK.

"The external steps Z001 and Z002 have the automatic subsequent WT creation checked so that after those external steps the next WT gets created."

Technically for Z001 you do not have to set the auto WT flag. With Z001 you move the product to the work center, so there is no WT with the step Z002. Only at Z002 you need the auto WT flag.

"The WPT of the WT is the same as the one that we select in the /SCWM/ADHU, shouldn't it be the WPT that we have kept in the storage control for the external step Z002. "

No. In the storage control for Z002 you do not need a WPT, that would never been used.

"The next external step Z003 is not getting triggered automatically, is there something missing?."

Did you close the process step for the HU at the work center?

Brgds

Juergen

All the above is no official SAP statement.

And it is EWM. NOT eWM - Duh!

And if your question includes the word "transfer order" - do NOT tag the question with Extended Warehouse Management!

Hi Juergen,

thanks for the answer.

I'm dumb, I did not close the step, that is why the Z003 step did not trigger.

With that and your insight about removing the auto flag in step Z001 and the process type in Z002 everything is working fine,

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
