Message No. BP045 The budget profile does not exist

Former Member

We have just recently started to receive this error message when trying to access two levels of our 2011 budget profile using transaction IM52.

PROFILE does not exist

Message no. BP045

Diagnosis

The budget profile entered does not exist

System respons

Processing stops

Procedure

Check your input and enter an existing budget profile

It was working and suddenly stopped working a couple of weeks ago. We have found a work around by unchecking the WBS elements and Orders boxes in the Selection of measures/approp requests criteria. I have found that some others are experiencing this same issue.

Moderator note - thread belongs in Financials forums - likely Investment management since IM52 and budget profile are not utilities specific. Do not post the same request in multiple forums/threads.

In OSS note 121545, SAP has this recommendation. Please see if it helps/explains. Also see if note 122469 is applicable to you.

"

Ensure that, for the planning/budgeting of a capital investment program, the program type in Customizing belonging to the capital investment program always contains a valid planning/budget profile.
Furthermore, it is required for the budget distribution from program positions to measures that all affected measures also refer to a valid budget profile.
The budget profile of an order is to be specified in the respective order type.
The budget profile for a project is stored in the project master record. It is proposed when you create the project from the budget profile which is stored in the project profile

Hi Team,

To resolve this issue, need to check the projects created with specified program position by t code IMR1_ALV

check budget profile for all project and you can find at least one project without budget profile. Hence system is giving that message during execution of IM52 as it checks all the projects

Solution

1. Enter budget profile manually to that project and save

2. Open that project in one window and run im52 in another window and execute

Thanks

Venkat
