1 Appointment Scheduling and Workshop Planning
The Appointment Scheduling and Workshop Planning scenario can be used to create a service order and give a customer feedback on a possible repair completion date or delivery time, based on the availability of resources.
You can then use the appointment scheduling functions to block the appropriate resources.
By doing this, you can avoid overbooking and resource capacity problems in the workshop. Furthermore, the customer or service advisor can see immediately whether a repair is possible in the required timeframe or not.
Process Flow
This scenario introduces the vehicle service process which includes creating, posting and billing a DBM order for vehicle service parts and service activities. You can also generate and process warranty cases in the service order from order processing for DBM. The system updates the order-dependent data in the vehicle master record, such as the vehicle history and the primary and secondary status of the vehicle automatically. You can also find all the documents related to DBM service order through document flow for history tracking. You can find the vehicle-related DBM orders in order list.
Key Points
The Appointment Scheduling and Workshop Planning scenario covers the following processes:
The customer contacts the dealer
The customer and vehicle is identified
Rough capacity check is carried out
Create Service Order
Enter requested start/completion date
Enter service item
Enter service task
Check available dates
Select customer advisor and replacement vehicle
Schedule and save the service order
Check or adjust the appointment in MRS
Key Points
Clearly display the available resources
Easy to appoint and schedule the resources
The capacity of the workshop is easily overviewed
Reward if useful.

Hi Subha,
giving you an overview on the entire Automotive solution is quite difficult because it covers the manufacturing side up to the dealer management. For this reason I would recommend taking a look at the solution maps for the Automotive industries. There you will find an overview on the processes and the available solutions.
