Background:
BPC 10 MS version
Excel 2007 (set in BPC Client Admin MEMBERSHEET_VERSION as 2007)
SQL 2008 R2
SP and SSIS (to load data into table/s and views) into dimensions and fact tables
Currently, a dimension has about 90K members (20 properties) and another has nearly 200K members (144 properties). Once the system goes live, the members of these 2 dimension will grow.
Issue #1. When loading the dimension members through SSIS (mbrDIM), there's a synchronisation issue with the Excel file (env\AdminApp\DIM.xlsx) in the BPC Admin Client tool. To synchronise these 2, the Export Dimension functionality re-creates the SQL table mbrDIM member values into DIM.xlsx file. This however only works for dimensions with smaller members. For dimensions with larger members (>180K), it created an .xls file (not .xlsx). With a file size close to 3GB , it threw a 'File not found' error when maintained. Even after renaming the DIM.xls to DIM.xlsx filename, the 'File not found' error is returned. What is interesting, if an earlier version of DIM.xlsx file is copied into the AdminApp folder, the client admin tool opens the DIM.xlsx file.
Issue #2. In some instances, some of the property/ies have to be maintained in the client Admin tool. However, when a dimension is processed (with 90K members), the systems takes a very long time to process and crashes all the time.
Anybody in the same situation or suggestions or work arounds?
