Hi,
I am working as an abap programmer since 5 months.
All of my friends, tell the life of abap is very short.
After 1 year there will be no abap,Only netweaver. Is it true.

We've been hearing this from the past 5 years.
There is no need to panic , ABAP will live long.

Hi Prasad,
Have no fears. NetWeaver is the latest technology from SAP.
But, that doesnt replace ABAP. Infact technical developer has a much more roles and contributions to make in the NetWeaver technology.
Have a look at this link to learn about NetWeaver.

HI Paulri.
You question makes me laugh like anything..
All are false news.Don't believe it.
Netweaver has both ABAP and Java stack.
90% of the code in Netweaver still reside heavily on ABAP.
ABAP getting new features in release by release makes other technologies to wonder.
SAP has invested billions of dollars for improving ABAP further.
A best example would be Webdynpro for ABAP which is going to be released with NW2004s.
If SAP doesnt want ABAP then why it is going for Webdynpro for ABAP.
SAP is trying to make Java more like ABAP in SAP.
<b>ABAP will live as long as SAP does.</b>
<b>Dont belive these kinds rumours..</b>
Enjoy working in ABAP.

hi,
Web Dynpro Technology provides the development and runtime environment for Web applications based on server-side scripting.
The Web Dynpro technology will enhance classical Web
development to build cost-effective and easy-to-use user interfaces for professional business solutions based on Java Server Pages (JSP) and a tag library (Taglib).

Sailaja.

This is for all of you having fears that ABAP will not be developed further:
Have a look at NW04<b>s</b>...
In NW04s ABAP stack has been changed, but not so with the Java stack!

Hi
that is not correct at all. see SAP will not kill its own language which they have developed but there will b some changes like ABAP OBJECTS. OOPS concepts will be there and also web dynpros with ABAP flavor is also available now so dont think ABAP will not b there in the market.
