Hi Laura,
DIMP stands for Discrete Industries and Mill Products and is actually one of SAP's industry solutions (SAP for specific businesses). It maps business processes for the aerospace and defense, automotive, high tech, engineering construction and operations, and industrial machinery and components industries.
This info was found in SAP Info issue 119. See URL http://www.sapinfo.net/public/en/print.php4/article/Article-25854410372169d82e/en
IPP stands for Iterative Process Prototyping and it is a methodology designed by SAP to orient itself to actual business processes (rather than to single functional area's). It goes to far to explain it in detail, but a good book about it can be found on the URL http://www.bookpool.com/sm/0201924706
Regards,
Rob.
