Handling fiscal years in BPC 5.1

I have a client where the company has entities with varying fiscal years. The majority run Oct - Sept, but others run Jan-Dec. I had planned to use an alternate hierarchy based on a methodology that worked in v4.x. I have just gone through SAP support and found that this is not possible on v5.x. Can anyone suggest a good work around for this on BPC v5.1?

There is no real alternative to use multiple hierarchies in version 5.X. You need to upgrade to version 7.0 SP3 to take advantage of new code to allow for use of fiscal and calendar hierarchies. Version 7 specifically addresses the version 5 limitation in the code.
