Questiong regarding SAPScript with Barcode

Hello Experts-

Is it possible to have SAPScript print barcodes on outgoing document which can later be read by a scanner?

If this is possible then what is the best way to accomplish this?

<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/d1/802e50454211d189710000e8322d00/frameset.htm">Needs to be specified using Character formats in the SAPscript</a>

Additionally the barcode font needs to be installed on the printer and in SAP (if not using the standard fonts available), follow the menu path specified in the link above.
