Hi
I understand that if a request id created by a project leader...then a separate task will be created for each developer who uses that request...
my Q is if developer 1 has worked on a report ABC and then developer 2 wants to work on the same report ABC...
1. will the report ABC be copied from developer 1 task to developer 2 task....?
2. Is there a way we can restrict developer 2 from editing objects of other developers task

Hi Hema,
The answers to your queries are as follows:
1. A report never gets copied from User to another. Instead, the name of the developer's user Id gets added to the list against the Transport Request Number. In other words, the report remains the same with different versions assigned to the various developers associated with it.
2. If the developer 2 has a seperate SAP User Id, then, in the report attributes you can use the checkbox option 'Editor's Lock' to disallow any other developer from changing developer's 1 code.

hi,
in case 1, if another userid makes changes to the report and activates it...will not that report be added to his task list....so that he is the one who releases his task

Hi Hema,
You need to consider 2 scenarios:
1. When the option Editor's lock is checked, the option of Developer 2 making any changes to developer 1's code does not exist.
2. In case all developer's have access to changes, then, on change of task assignment, the system gives a pop-up asking the user to change the owner of the report from developer 1 to developer 2. Hence, whomsoever saves the changes, that code is visible to all. Here, please note that SAP does not allow 2 users to work on the same code simultaneously (hence only 1 code).
Finally, the difference between activating and saving needs to be understood clearly. Here, the code is available to everyone only on activation but multiple saved versions may exist till this. The moment, someone activates the code all temporary versions are replaced with the activated code. Once, released you start with a new version with reference to the Transport Request.
Hope this helps.

Pranav.
