Note to SAP Community members: SAP recognizes the importance of the integrity of the SAP Community. In an effort to continue to support the community and at the same time adapt to this
time of uncertainty, we are creating a
temporary space for partners who have free solutions that can help you continue to move forward. Our intention is to give you
direct access to their solutions as they may provide you with practical help to tackle COVID-19 disruptions.
Folks,
We live in unusual times and this is an unusual blog. In some way, everyone on this planet has been affected by COVID-19 epidemic.
As you might know, over 2 years ago I joined the ranks of IBM. I’m not the type of person who would start boasting about their employer, no matter who they are. But of all the places I can’t think of a better one to weather a serious global event. The IBMers are the smartest, feistiest, most generous people I’ve known, and I’m amazed by them daily. Obviously, I can’t share the details of what’s going on in our private communications but I’m very grateful to the colleagues who’ve been running our “Save the Parents” Slack channel. Not many organizations have the level of talent that can organize a lecture in linguistics for kids and an 80s dance-off in the same week.
These days, many of us (including SAP Community members) are asking: what can we do to help? Today, I’m glad that I can help as a blogger, and make the announcement below of IBM Rapid IMPACT to the SAP Community, on behalf of IBM. The text in quotation marks and the slides were given to me by an IBM team and are posted here verbatim.
“IBM’s free, 2 week, remotely managed assessment that uses a value-centered, hypothesis-based approach to quickly identify, validate, size, and solution clients’ immediate opportunities to enhance liquidity, lower operating expenses, and define resilient business and operating models for the future.
The COVID-19 pandemic has brought tremendous disruption to the economy and to the business world. On a global basis, business leaders are addressing unprecedented challenges around business continuity and the health and safety of their people. They are also, on a wide scale, facing unparalleled financial challenges that must be addressed with urgency.
In this context, leaders must navigate complexity and the rapid rate of change as they simultaneously navigate the complexity of their own organizations. In moments like this, it’s easy to fall into crisis mode which can lead to sub-optimal decisions. It’s critically important in these moments to identify the RIGHT opportunities to act. It’s time to prioritize and systematically address resiliency and financial needs. It’s not only about making cuts but building capabilities that help you reach the other side of the crisis.
IBM Rapid IMPACT provides business leaders immediate insights and clarity into opportunities with the biggest financial impact. It does this with a balanced view between near-term urgency and a longer-term view of emerging a stronger, more resilient enterprise. Rapid IMPACT identifies near and mid-term opportunities to enhance liquidity and mitigate financial impacts of disruption using a hypothesis-based approach and rapid validation of opportunities. It also identifies mid-to-longer term opportunities to create more resilient, more flexible, more scalable, more cost-effective operating models.
IBM benchmarking studies and experience has shown that many enterprises have excessive working capital in their operations and significant opportunities to rationalize operating expenses. IBM has extensive experience in leveraging operating model optimization, process optimization and outsourcing, infrastructure and cloud migration, process automation, and related business and technology solutions to drive significant percentage reductions in working capital and operating expenses.
