Hi all,

I’m happy to see that Blog It Forward is back. Since my last ‘Blog It Forward’ post, much has changed (which is always good:-)).

https://blogs.sap.com/2014/02/23/blog-it-forward-wouter-lemaire/

My name is still Wouter Lemaire and my hobbies are pretty much the same. In the meanwhile, I’m living together with my girlfriend (still in Belgium) and we have two wonderful kids, a boy and a girl.  Our son, Mil, is almost 3 years old and our daughter, Liv, is 7 weeks old - she still sleeps all day and parties all night long :-).

In the picture below, you see all 4 of us :-). If you look carefully you’ll notice that even Alexa is on the picture, she’s completely integrated in our home and she is a part of our family!

Just a few weeks after I became a dad for the first time, I became part of the SAP Mentors. This was a big milestone for me. The same year I also became an SAP Hero with my own poster at Teched. I was and still am very thankful for both achievements. This motivated me to keep sharing knowledge to the SAP community and helped me growing on professional level.

On professional level not much has changed until this year. Since the beginning of my career, I worked for Flexso. After almost 10 years, I decided to make the move to become an independent SAP Consultant.

Questions from Ronnie André Bjørvik Sletta

  • How did you end up working with SAP technology?

After my first year in high school, I had to choose a specialization. I had a few options to choose from but no clue what I wanted to do. Actually, I just wanted to learn developing in multiple language to have some variation. For that reason, the school has suggested me to go for Business IT. This was just another name for learning SAP ? I was and still am very happy with that suggestion!

  • What is your favourite hobby?

Snowboarding! It’s just a great feeling to be in the mountains boarding down the hill! This is something I look forward to every year and I hope to do this with my kids soon! (I just need to convince my girlfriend of this :))

  • Do you have a secret skill, that few people know about?

Hard question…. Not that I know…

Questions from Krishna Kishor Kammaje

  • How much time you spend coding in a day? How much is ‘work’ and ‘learn’ in that?

It depends on the customer that I’m working for. I would say 50% coding and 50% configuration and architecture tasks most of the days. On my way to work,  I always try to follow OpenSAP, reading blogposts, … .

  • How is your experience as an Independent Consultant?

Just started… I will let you know in a few months or years ?, but I must say that it is very exciting to be my own ‘boss’ and to be responsible for every choice I make. The freedom of working for and being in contact with different clients, really gives me a positive feeling!

On first sight, awesome! We should make this for UI5! Maybe an idea for a new UI5 community project?

I blog it forward to tom.cenens  and vvdries , my questions for you:

  1. What is your favorite movie and why?

  2. As you are both living in Belgium, what do you like the most about our country?
