My name is Katya Shmuel, I'm married and have a 2 years daughter. I work at the Ra'anana Labs in SAP.
First of all I would thank to Moshe Naveh for his great "blog it forward" initiative and to Alona Oshri for inviting me to participate in it.
I grew up in the family business environment and married a business owner. So I know, very closely "from home" the importance of accurate on-line data for decision makers.
This personal experience made me appreciate the importance of SAP BI tools for business, no matter small or big.
Currently, in SAP I'm working on the SCN Social Insight program as a Business Analyst. In spite of the challenge of filling in for the project manager, significant goals have been achieved: a lot of data accuracy issues have been solved, IPAD dashboard for SCN managers has been built and a new Visual Intelligence tool has been implemented successfully.
Actually, this is my second BI project. The first one was the implementation of a Data Warehouse (SAP BO) for the largest Israeli cable company. The project was a huge success as many inefficient reporting systems have been replaced by the Data Warehouse and an efficient reporting platform was built.
In additional to the implementation of SAP BI products, I like fashion, art, sports and am always happy to learn more about different cultures. I speak Russian, Hebrew, English and French.
For dessert 😉 here are my responses on Alona's questions:
• Recommend resources of information that helped you in your work.
The most important source of information that helped me in work is people, both inside and outside my team.
• If you were 20 again, what would you study?
I think I would study something focused on BI and information system.
• What is your professional life dream?
My professional life dream is to become BI consultant and promote women in IT.
I would like to forward it to
1. hussain.sehorewala
2. nathan.genez
3.nadine.ebert
4. maya.bahar
and ask the following questions:
1. What is your personal life dream?
2. What are your most significant achievements in life (both personal and professional)?
3. What is the best lesson your parents taught you?
