About myself / my places

My name is Alessandro and I was born 31 years ago in Rome;

I think my city is one of the most beautiful and famous cities in the world, full of history and tales.

Unfortunately..there are downsides: the traffic jam.. public transport...the tube...and so on...they aren't always as we would like!

But walking in the streets of the town centre at night is a magic experience

Sometimes on the weekend I go to my house in Amatrice to find relaxation. It's a small town not far from Rome over the mountains of "Monti della Laga" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monti_della_Laga)

Amatrice is really famous for the very tasty regional dishes Amatriciana and Gricia...wow..I noticed now that exists a wikipedia page in english about "amatriciana" !  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amatriciana     the story  is interesting

My first videogame and my first computer

My beginning with technology was when I was about 6 years old and my father came home with this:

It was similar to PONG...a little bit more evolved..with different types of sports : it was a really rough game but it was really fun!

Then when I was 9 years was the Commodore 64

How many times have I seen this screen from 9 to 12-13 years old?How many times I typed  load "$",8 or  load "*",8,1 ? I think thousands of times

How I Became a developer

Development came relatively late in my life : my high school wasn't a "technical" school...I studied both technical (maths, physics) and humanities (latin , philosophy) subjects... so I never study programming when I was young.

In 2002, exactly 10 years ago, while attending the University of Economics I enrolled in a programming course organized by the "RegioneLazio" (Lazio is the district of Rome, in this period "regione Lazio" is very famous in Italy for sad political scandals  .. but that's another story).

The course would cover C + + and Visual Basic 6!

In those months I learned the basics of the art of programming...I drew a lot of flow chart(for example..the functionality of an ATM..or an alarm clock, it was very funny!)

I was excited..I finally found my way to the future...I could think about became a "true" developer!

The course ended in 2003; at the end of that year I was contacted by a company because they were organizing a new team of ABAP developers:I did the abap course...and everything started from there.

BIF questions by Ivan

If you could be a super hero (or are in your spare time) who would you be?

I see myself as Paperinik!

Because when I was a child I read a lot of disney comics and Paperinik is the superhero alterego of Donald Duck ,which is a little bit lazy and unfortunate but funny!

What do you most enjoy on SCN?

Thanks to SCN I can solve problems, I can create a project on Code-Exchange , share it and work together with other developers, I  can attend events like Sap Inside Track, and much more!

If you were 20 again, what would you study?

Probably I would study Mathematics at University!
