Hi,

I would like to use a XLSX-file as a datasource in CrystalReports 11.

unfortunately CR11 only recognices the older xls-files.

Does anyone knows whether a plugin is available?

Thanks for your help!

No plugin, no update available for any version of CR. Version 2010 expected by end of this year will support XLSX.

support for Office 2007 file formats as datasources was added in an early service pack for CR XIR2. details can be found [here|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/105142f1-8f1e-2b10-ddac-dbbd038ba53b?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true] .

Just to follow up, this should also work in CR 11.

You just need to download the free 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components from Microsoft. The ODBC method is recommended since its fairly straight forward, but If you want to use OLEDB to connect you will have to add a new property in the Advanced Information dialogue. name this property "Extended Properties" and give it a value of "Excel 12.0". You may have to go back and forth a few times to make sure the new property sticks, but it should work. This property is automatically set for you in CR XIR2 and CR2008.
