If I want to change the length of a field in the XSD I use as the source message, do I have to redo the mapping? Can I change that after it's been imported?
Hi,
but why do you want to change - source message?
it will not be validated in any way in XI
anyway you can change and import xsd once more
and the mapping will work - you won't have to redo it

Michal & Ahmad,
I have a doubt. While creating Data type we don't specify the length of the particular field am I right. I don't know till know I haven't got the reqmt to give the length . Ok let me ask since he is using External definition, the field has say length xsd:String(12) ,if the source comes with more than length specified will it throw any error?
Can u please clarify.
Best regards,
raj.
Thanks, I reimported the XSD in to the external definition, and then re-referenced the external definition in the mapping and I didn't lose any of the existing mappings. Thanks for the help!

Hey
>>Can I change that after it's been imported?
yes you can change the xsd but not in IR.
you need to make the changes in the source system(from where you imported the xsd in the beginning) and then re-import the xsd in IR.
changing the field length wont affect mapping
Thanx
Ahmad
