Hello everybody ,

I am try to access the data from webservice( SAP BI query) in Xcelsius 2008 . I have exported it html and powepoint. In powerpoint i am not able to get any sort of data.

And in html whenever i run it again it never refreshes the data only the intial data remains not updated one. Is it something to do with crossdomain policy??

Hoping some inputs.

Regards

Atul

Hi Atul,

If the query works when you are in the Xcelsius Designer but not from from your desktop (PPT, SWF or HTML) then this will be down to the Adobe Flash Player Security restrictions.

To run a SWF on your desktop you need to make it trusted so it can access web sites or local data.

Note: You can make a SWF trusted using the Global Settings Manager (if you have internet access) or with a FlashPlayerTrust configuration file.

To make a SWF trusted using the Global Settings Manager:-

1. Run the SWF.

2. Right-click on the SWF to see a context menu and select Settings...

3. Select the Privacy tab.

4. Click Advanced... (opens in a new window).

5. Select Global Security Settings Panel (in the Table of Contents).

6. Add this SWF as trusted location.

7. Close the browser and reload the SWF.

If you put your SWF on a web server you might then run into cross domain issues, this file (called crossdomain.xml) needs to be placed in the root of the web server you want to get data from:-

<?xml version="1.0"?>

<!DOCTYPE cross-domain-policy SYSTEM

"http://www.macromedia.com/xml/dtds/cross-domain-policy.dtd">

<cross-domain-policy>

<allow-http-request-headers-from domain="" headers="" secure="false" />

<allow-access-from domain="*" secure="false" />

</cross-domain-policy>

Regards,

Matt
