Xcelsius Dashboard bringing down Tomcat

Former Member

We have two servers in the Windows 2008 64bit cluster.BOR3+SP3+FP3.6

Server1 we have Tomcat/CMS/FRS.

Server2 has Webi Processing servers.

The system has been stable for almost 2 years now. Nothing changed except that we recently deployed a Dashboard that was built with Xcelsius using Query as a Web Service(QaaWS). We noticed that after a short while of usage, it makes Tomcat unresponsive. Even trying http://localhost on the server doesn't resolve. At that point we notice that some Webi Processing Services are using around 40% CPU though not high on Memory, if I kill those Webi processing services on the other server then Tomcat becomes responsive.

Its confusing, what is Tomcat trying to communicate with the Webi on the other server, that it makes it so unresponsive?

We have case open with SAP that hasn't been of much help so far.

Thank You

Hi Poonam,

Dashboard reporting off QaaWS needs WIPS to generate SQL query. Setting timeout to a reasonable number should mitigate.

Hi Poonam,

I we are using qaaws and enabled the qaaws accelerator then the process would be done by xcelsius processing server and xcelsius cache server and the request would not be routed to webi proc server.

Try enabling the qaaws accelerator so that too much load does not come on webi proc server.

But the thing is webi proc server has to be running in order to use the xcelsius proc and cache server.

Thanks and Regards,
