Xcelsius 2008 Engage Fix Pack 2 (FP2) is available

Hello,

Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 1 - Fix Pack 2 (FP2) is now available and posted on the SAP BusinessObjects download support site. You can access it here: [https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm|https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm]

It applies to Xcelsius Engage, Engage Server and Enterprise. Not Xcelsius Present.

You must already have Service Pack 1 (SP1) installed before installing FP2. FP2 installs over SP1 and/or FP1. No uninstall or new keycode is needed. Please unzip the download before attempting to install.

The FP2 Fixed Issues document is also available at the above link or in the zip file. While the FP2 Release Notes and Known Issues document is available at [http://help.sap.com/content/bobj/bobj/index.htm]

After the upgrade in Help > About your Xcelsius version number should be 5.1.2.0. (Build 12,1,2,439.)

Fix Packs are cumulative meaning that all the fixes from FP1 are included in FP2. So FP1 does not have to be installed first.

Andy,

I'm unable to install FP2. As soon as I start the setup I get an error dialog which states:

Error applying transforms. Verify that the specified transform paths are valid.

My version of Xcelsius '08 is 5.0.0.99 and the build number is 12.1.0.247. I am on Vista Business. The update installed correctly on another machine that is running Server '03 Enterprise.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

Sean

That error is most often caused by a problem with the Adobe flash player. Please uninstall the Adobe flash player and active X control and reinstall by downloading from the Adobe.com website.

Then try the FP2 install again.

I assume you're installing as Admin on Vista.

Still getting the same error. I've tried several times including reboots after uninstall and after reinstall.

I'm pleased and excited overall with FP2 so far, but I can't use it due to the following change:

ADAPT01134323 Description: If the Source Data of Icon is dynamic data that inserted by other selectors, changing the source data, destination data doesnu2019t update dynamically. New Behavior: This issue is resolved.

This is a change from past behavior all the way back through v4, and a serious blow to custom solution development. Icon components have come to be the tool for many, many solutions due largely to the fact that they are the rare component that does not insert immediately upon receiving new source data. This is great for paging, or for creating buttons in multiple places on a page that control the same dynvis cells.

And, most notably, there's already a component that behaves exactly as this new version of the icon does--the toggle button. Now we essentially have two toggle buttons, and no icon anymore.

Please either bring back the old functionality on this one, or add more options under "Interaction Options" so users can decide how they want source data changes handled.

Let me know if it would help for me to post an example.

Thanks,

Brian
