Hi,
In the Universal Worklist, you can turn on and off the details of a workflow below the table. If they are turned on, it gives you the status, priority, description and attachment(s). My question is, is there a way of controlling the attachment link, in either displaying the link for certain workflows, or hiding it completely out of view from the user?
Cheers,
Kevin
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Kevin,
Checkout the following PDF. It has all the details for conf of UWL (buttons etc..)There is a xml file which you will have modify, upload and then register your systems..
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/xi/xi-how-to-guide... to configure the universal worklist.pdf
Hope this helps. Let me know if you are asking for something else (i not able to check my portal's UWL conf now so cannot exaclty chck what are you exactly asking for..)
Wil let you know more details later..
Regards
Gaurav

Hi Gaurav,
I have downloaded this guide before and gone through it, but I can't seem to find anything that references the Attachment link that shows up in the detail view of the workflow.
SAP is suppose to be coming out with some kind of XML documentation for the UWL, but it is not out yet.
I'm wondering maybe there is some changes that can be made inside a JSP file, or quite possibly, modifying the workflow through t-code PFTC to not include anykind of attachment.
The attachment that I want to stop right now is approving a Training workflow. When you click the attachment, it launches an SAP transaction that allows the manager to cancel attendance, maintain fees and other functionality that we do not want them to have. What would be ideal is for them to only have the transaction come up in display mode only. The standard task for this is 001200196 - PE_APPTASK01.
Cheers,
Kevin
Hi Gaurav,
I think something can be done on the R/3 workflow side of things. I will have to chat with our resident workflow expert today to see if we can figure something out. It's unfortunate that something can't be done on the portal side to hide it.
I'll update this when I find something out.
Cheers,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Yes, there is definately something on the R/3 side (& not on portal side) & i was also trying to get those details..
Well just a vague thought, what if you dont give permission to the user on backend r/3 for that particular attachment ...dont know if this is really too vague..
Let me know if u get something more concrete..

Gaurav
Hi Kevin,
How is it possible to turn off the details of a workflow below the table?
Thanks

Hi Juergen,
To turn off the details, in EP6, there is an attribute in the Property Editor of the Universal Worklist called <b>Display Preview</b>. Change it to <b>no</b>. That should solve your problem.
For your other question, what version of the portal are you using (ex. EP6 SP12)? There is no UWL xml file in EP6.
Cheers,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the answer!
I refer to the xml file to upload and then register your systems for uwl.
a) https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/xi/xi-how-to-guide... to configure the universal worklist.pdf
b) http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/09/6d6b17b29b4eef83a553acaa52f668/frameset.htm
Can the attachment link (beside in SAP R/3 itself) be customized/changed via this config files or in another way?
(e.g. I want to extract one url query part value and construct a new url out of it to present it to the enduser)
Thanks,
Juergen
PS: The used portal version is 6.0.12.0.0
Hi Juergen,
We never did customize the attachment link. We found that the same functionality was in EP5 and found no reason for us to explore changing the attachment link. There are supposed to be ways of customizing/changing the attachment link, but I haven't seen any documentation on it.
Sorry,
Kevin
