Wildcard question

Good Evening,

I have written a report which involves material #. I need the report to display only material numbers that start with '1Y'. I know the wildcard functionality should resolved my problem but after hours of research and attempts I am unable to do this. I have tried 'match pattern' function on the query side and using % and * within report filters...no I can get to work. Can anyone help me?

Thanks and Happy Holidays

Query level:

Drag Material object to Filters pane and use MatchesPattern operator and in operand filed enter 1Y% or %1Y or %1Y% etc..., how would you like to see data (as suggested by Amr)

Report level:

Apply Filter on Material object and select materials starts with 1Y.

Or

Create Variable :

=[Material] where Material like '1Y%'

you dont use * at all

you just use the match pattern like this in your filter

MATERIAL# match pattern 1Y%

good luck
