Why is Content Server not found in PAM ?

Dear Experts,

we need to upgrade Linux on our Content Server. I wanted to check which Linux versions are supported
and had a quick look in the PAM. Nevertheless I was baffled by not finding this product there !! Why that ?
I even tried looking for MaxDB, but it is not listed there either.

Many thanks for any usable hints!

P. S.: There is not even a managed tag labelled Content Server !!!

hello, contentserver is a maxdb , so you can have a look in pam for maxdb releases and restrictions regarding your mentioned os versions (just open netweaver 7.5 > technical restri > databases) . here are some further sapnotes and blogs 1619726 - FAQ: SAP MaxDB Content Server http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-54584 http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-56686

For information about database availability check SAP Note 1722076 - The Future of SAP MaxDB and SAP Note 1178367 - SAP MaxDB: End of Support Dates.

This is what I finally did, but I have to object. Content Server is not MaxDB only. There is an additional product which is really called Content Server and it doesn't work without it. Simple example: If after a maintenance I only start MaxDB and not the ContentServer Application, the test URL is not working and of course there is no connection and the Documents cannot be displayed.

hi Symon, sap content server is with maxdb, pam just shows products auf SAP. you can check out install guide https://help.sap.com/doc/cc51de23a8d9409c91e0ff97c6219819/CURRENT_VERSION/en-US/inst_content_server_...

or https://community.sap.com/t5/enterprise-resource-planning-blogs-by-members/content-server-installati...

  2. Apache installation
  3. Content server installation
  4. Post installation activities
