SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.3 Support Pack 2 Patch 3
Version : 14.3.2.4214.3
Issue:
In the past versions (4.2 SP9) when a user edited a WebI document the users session would remain associated to BI Launch Pad. in 4.3 version we're seeing multiple sessions for a user now. One of which is showing Information Design Tool. Our users don't' use IDT... They don't' have BI Client tools installed!
Steps to recreate:
I understand why I have different sessions for CMC & BI Launchpad... However, why now do I have a 3rd session showing for IDT? We didn't open IDT. We edited a report through the 4.3 Fiori interface which I would think is part of the BI Launchpad. It was when I opened the report....but when I go to design the nature of the connection changes? Pretty sure it didn't do this in the past...
So this leads me to two considerations:
If we had 100 named user licenses and 101 active "Sessions" I'm guessing I'm ok provided at least one of those sessions was for the same "named user" (I'm NO WHERE CLOSE to this limit I'm just using it for illustrative purposes)
Why are we seeing IDT? Shouldn't it be BI Launchpad I didn't switch URLs or applications when I went into "Edit Mode" did I? So why is this being handled differently? Does a user in fact have a session to "Launch pad" and to "Information Design Tool" even though they aren't using IDT? The Client Session column in "Session Management" within CMC is quite misleading...
I was initially fearful our users were somehow getting into IDT and adjusting universes but when I found out it was just though design mode of a WebI document this shows up, I was less concerned; but more confused.
Hello we are facing the same issue but not able to replicated most of the user are LDAP and accessing report or openDOC and it once a blue moon we are getting this issue and we closed a previous case because we are not able to replicate and after a month again we had seen the session and we have a concern that user are not having IDT.
