I know, Volker's going to say he's not seeing this :)... but every single day I see this dialog box when I fire up dbisql for the first time:
If I click "Yes" it confirms my suspicions... yes, there are no updates:
Sure, I can turn it off, but that kinda defeats the purpose of having this feature in the product.
Breck, such a surprise, I do get this notice, too, and find it annoying, too.
In my case, it seems related to the fact that there are Non-English documentation sets available (that I'm not going to install:).
You just might to have scroll down to see them, too (and find them less helpful, too...):
German Text on the according website:
Es gibt keine Updates zu SQL Anywhere Server 12-Datenbankserver 12.0.0.2601 für Windows x86. Es gibt keine Updates zu SQL Anywhere Server 12-Client 12.0.0.2601 für Windows x86. Es gibt keine Updates zu SQL Anywhere 12-Verwaltungstools 12.0.0.2601 für Windows x86.
Documentation Notice (German)
Dieser Download enthält deutschsprachige SQL Anywhere 12.0.0-Dokumentation für Windows-Systeme.
Something to improve, I agree:)
Suggestion: One might add a button like "Don't inform me about this update anymore" to this page.

Yep, it's not new - cf. my question http://sqlanywhere-forum.sap.com/questions/1152. According to Karim's answer there, I assume the docs really trigger the "Updates Are Available" notice. - I bet once you get international help (aka install those docs), you're fine:)
I downloaded the English docs and ran the setup... it displayed the "Modify / Repair / Remove" dialog box, which confirmed that I had already installed that doc file. I ran the "Modify" anyway, and ISQL is still displaying "Updates Are Available". Should I try installing the French and German docs too? I'd rather learn Spanish, but if it must be French and German then so be it 🙂
Das weiß ich auch nicht. (Graeme may help...) If so, I'm looking forward to the release of the Chinese and Japanese docs:)
Not as an answer, just to bring up this issue again (aka SHOUTING😞
As the current EBF 12.0.0.2601 for Windows is quite old, I frequently get informed about new updates by DBISQL - and then again, it's just the doc stuff (which I'm not interested in)...
Are there any plans to change this (annoying) behaviour?
(Yes, I'm aware that any change won't come until another "real update" is available...)
