Which ports need to be opened?

I am about to install the SAP Web Application Server Java 6.40 SR1 on Solaris in a highly secure emvironment.

I need to open all the necessary ports in the firewall in advance of the installation. Which ports do I need (as a minumum) to run the portal with KM, Collaboration and trex?

And where do I configure the settings for the P4 protocol? How do I make it run on SSL?

hi

first open the database port access1433 for sqlserver or default for oracle .check the installation guide and use netstats command in dos prompt to see which are the ports engaged and then you have to configure p4 in j2ee engine check out services tab .

Hi,

you should probably run a proxy server in your DMZ (with for example, SAP Web Dispatcher for load balancing) and you'd only need two ports open between proxy and portal (you can decide the ports during installation). If you only invite SSL connections to your service, then only one port open on the outer firewall.

SAP Web dispatcher or Apache (or other proxy) will handle SSL.

I have recently built a 4-app server portal behind SAP WebDispatcher with SSL. Everything works out of the box.
