Which Crystal Reports version do I need to buy?

I need to edit and create reports for "Conference Programmer" software and need to know which version of Crystal reports to buy. I started a chat with somebody on the main SAP website and they couldn't help, called the number he gave me but they couldn't help, they referred me to another number which had 20 menu options which ended up at the sales area. They couldn't help and told me to email the on line store. The chat guy then said to join here and ask.

Seriously, if I didn't need this software I would have quit by now.

"Conference Programmer" folks said to get at least version 11. SAP doesn't list them that way. Will the standard "SAP Crystal Reports" meet my needs?

Thanks!

"Version 11" is Crystal Reports XI. The latest version, as Stratos mentioned, is Crystal Reports 2008 (or Version 12).

In terms of compatibility... Any of the later versions of the CR Designer will allow you to pull data from your database and create reports. The "compatibility issue" only comes into play if Conference Programmer has a custom reporting interface built using a specific CR SDK package and you want the ability to upload our reports to Conference Programmer and execute the reports from within it's interface.

If that's the case, you'll need to speak with Conference Programmer rep (hopefully more knowledgeable than the 1st one you talked to) and find out if this is #1) even possible #2) what sdk was used when developing their reporting UI.

If the plan is to simply create and run reports outside the Conference Programmer interface, just download a copy of CR 2008 SP3 and go to town.

Jason

It sounds to me that you need the Crystal Reports Designer. The latest version is CR Designer 2008 SP3 (that's version 12.3) . Still I would recommend to ask the "COnference programmer" vendor if their software is compatible with CR Designer 2008 SP3.
